Oxford City Stage and Screen offer government funded pre-vocational training in Performing Arts for students aged 16-19. They offer a Level 2 or Level 3 Extended Diploma accredited by University of the Arts London Awarding Body which is the equivalent of 3 A-Levels.

Students can choose to specialise in either an Acting or Dance Pathway depending on their ambitions, experience, and training so far. Whether you want to be a professional actor, dancer, or work in one of the numerous jobs available in the theatre, arts, film or entertainment industry, professionally experienced teachers will prepare you with specialist training and support.

The courses at Oxford City Stage and Screen are enriched with many exciting extra-curricular and employer-linked performance opportunities to give you hands on performance experience. You’ll develop practical performance skills for using voice, music, and movement to communicate effectively with an audience, as well as transferable core skills such as teamwork, self-discipline, and confidence. You’ll also get valuable experiences from working with —and leading— your classmates.

Students have performed at Disneyland Paris, Move It Convention London, Blenheim Palace, National Trust Sites, Oxford Castle and Prison, the Ashmolean Museum and other public performances around Oxfordshire. We also provide additional masterclasses and trips to enrich the student experience. Recently our students have worked with professionals from Hamilton, Les Mis, and professional dancers based in London. Ex-students have gone on to gain places at Vocational Dance Colleges, Musical theatre conservatoires, Drama School, and Universities such as Stella Mann College, Shockout, Millenium Performing Arts, Urdang, and Wilkes Academy.

If being on stage or screen is for you, for more information, see the City of Oxford College website to apply or attend an open event. You will be given support with auditions, application material and advice for progression within the industry.
