hip hop Dance CLASSES

hip hop Dance classes In OXFORD

We have over 10 years experience running hip hop dance classes for young people aged 5-25 in Oxford. Classes are a fantastic opportunity to learn new dance skills, boost confidence and meet new people.

Sessions are led by experienced instructors from Body Politic. All our teachers work hard to create a safe and supportive environment where students feel empowered. Classes are structured to include:

  • Learning choreography
  • Technique training
  • Opportunities to create your own moves and let your creativity flourish!

During Spring term, Body Politic hosts its annual dance showcase, thePLATFORM, which is an opportunity for all our young people to showcase their dance moves on stage at Pegasus Theatre.

Yes! Please register your child via the online portal, and drop us an email at education@bodypoliticdance.com so we can help answer any questions.

Students need to wear comfy clothes they can move in and trainers.

What does my child need to bring?

A bottle of water is advised and any medication they might require i.e. inhaler.

Do classes run during school holidays?

Unfortunately, we only run sessions during term time. However, we offer special workshops and holiday provision. The team will ensure that this information is circulated to parents and young people.

We ask that parents do not come into the hall to watch as this is sometimes distracting for the other children.

Can I get extra support for term fees?

Body Politic offers subsidised places for any young person in receipt of free school meals, or families recieveing child benefits or universal credit. We also recognise that some families may be affected by the cost of living crisis, and would like to offer support to those who may be struggling. Testimonials

“My daughter has been dancing with Body Politic for almost a year now. Her background is in ballet, lyrical and contemporary so she was nervous about starting initially. But thanks to the teachers her nerves have totally vanished and have been replaced by genuine excitement each week! I’m so grateful for the opportunities that Body Politic present. It’s amazing to see her self esteem growing after each class.”

“I really enjoyed the dance course with Body Politic. It was really fun and cool to learn new dance moves. I enjoyed working with new people as well”

“I really enjoyed the activity and it was fun to learn new dance skills. I enjoyed working with new people who were serious about dance.”

“My son enjoys the classes a lot and it is currently the only out of school/social network he has. It means a huge amount to us.”
