No Place is a powerful hip hop dance theatre work about collapse, connection, and hope. Driven by the desire to imagine something better, the performers embark on a physical journey into the unknown- where visions of utopia emerge, unravel, and break apart. Bodies are pushed to their limits, and what once felt certain begins to disappear.
In a world searching for better, No Place asks:
What if utopia isn’t somewhere we go, but something we feel?
A moment of presence.
A shared connection.
A thread that binds us together.
NoPlace has been co-commissioned by Cultural Programme, University of Oxford, Dancin’ Oxford, The North Wall Arts Centre and St Hilda’s College DANSOX, and kindly supported by Arts council England, Dancin’ Oxord, South East Dance and Pegasus Theatre.

Founded in Oxford in 2012, Body Politic is a female-led hip hop dance theatre company creating bold, socially engaged work that amplifies underrepresented voices. Alongside its touring productions, the company delivers artist development, training and community programmes that champion access, inclusion and opportunity for young people across the region and beyond.
Artistic Director Emma-Jane Greig is one of the few female hip hop theatre makers touring nationally outside London. A proud Oxford-based creative, her work combines powerful physical storytelling with urgent social themes, bringing world-class new ideas and conversations to broader audiences. NoPlace marks Emma-Jane’s third full-length production, following the successful national touring of Father Figurine in 2019 and THEM in 2023.
The company’s growing partnership with the University of Oxford Cultural Programme and The Schwarzman Centre for the Humanities reflects a shared commitment to ambitious new work, cross-disciplinary collaboration, and creating meaningful cultural experiences for wider audiences.
