youth COMPANY (15-25yrs)

Body Politic YOUTH Body Politic’s very own youth company for dancers aged 15-25 yrs. This programme is led by professional dance artist, Ella Goodwin and Artistic Director EmJ Greig.

BP YOUTH is one of the only weekly training programmes for young hip hop artists looking for professional training and performance opportunities in Oxford. Recent performance opportunities have included ‘A Night with Boy Blue’ at The Barbican, London.

What we are looking for?

  • A high level of dance skill and ability in the following dance styles; House, Hip Hop, and other street dance styles
  • Ability to pick up choreography and execute at a high standard.
  • Ability to freestyle.
  • A commitment to improving your skills and working with a professional attitude.
  • A willingness to work as part of a company and as an individual. 

Commitment to Company and Academy Training Sessions

If you are successful, Company members are expected to attend every company training session. Sessions run Wednesday 6:45-8:45pm at Pegasus Theatre, OX4 1RE

Company members are also required to attend BP Academy training sessions on Saturdays 2-4pm at Oxford Brookes University.

Additional rehearsals and performances

Being part of YOUTH means opportunities to perform. We will check availability prior to each performance, but generally we expect you to be available for additional rehearsals and performances. Where possible we avoid arranging rehearsals during school time, however, from time to time you may be required to miss school in order to attend and performance licenses will be issued in these instances. 

Term Dates: 10th September- 3rd December 2025

Fees:

  • A £50 one-off membership fee is due in September, covering travel, costume, and BP kit for the year.

  • Termly fees of £150 (covering both Wednesday and Saturday sessions) are due at the start of each 12-week term.
