Writer’s toolkit 2.0:

Skills Beyond your artform

Brought to you by Body Politic, co-curated with  Eva Martinez and supported by Arts Council England.

This is a three part series delving into building relationships and partnerships: from your idea to the pitch; including getting you to send that winning email. Book one or all three.

After the pause in the dance sector over the past eighteen months, Body Politic are keen to support artists in finding the right words to articulate their vision, and how to build those crucial partnerships with people who can really advocate for their work and support them in their journey.

Bring your real life examples to the webinars with these brilliant and experienced facilitators. Network and share with peers, to continue the learning beyond these 90 minute sessions.

If you can’t make it to the live sessions, don’t worry you can book to receive a recording, and you’ll receive all the same resources as everyone who attended it live.

The Sessions

session 1: Communicate your artistic vision

wednesday 29 september,

Find the words that feel right, communicate your artistic idea with clarity before the work has even been made with Eva Martinez

In this workshop, you will get a chance to delve into strategies for how to deal with key issues that come up when you want to put your ideas into words. From how to find the words for your artistic vision for your website or biography, to how to write that initial text about the new piece you are still fundraising for but need to write about. This workshop is for artists and producers faced with those blank page moments.

Having successfully pitched to top brands including Nike and delivered live, written and online pitches for artists including Ivan Blackstock, Holly Blakey and ZooNation, Georgina will cover compiling your pitch deck (what even is a pitch deck?), how to pitch to someone informally and how to steady your nerves at that all important moment.
