THE M WORD
IN PERSON WEEKLY CLASSES ARE BACK FOR SUMMER 2021.
Please note: We only have spaces left on classes: Junior Street 8 – 10 years and Beginners Street 11 – 14 years.
Our term time classes are delivered in partnership with Dancin’ Oxford and Access Sport, Body Politic delivers an enriching and exciting dance project for children and young people aged 5-16yrs in Oxford.
Our weekly Street Dance classes balances learning new moves with boosting confidence and self-esteem. Classes are led by experienced instructors from Body Politic. All our teachers work hard to create a safe and supportive environment where students feel empowered and confident.
Classes are structured to include choreography and technique as well as plenty of opportunities for students to create their own moves and let their creativity flourish! There are also plenty of opportunities to perform. In previous years dancers have performed at Cowley Road Carnival, Oxford Christmas Light Festival and Oxfordshire Sport Awards 2019.
We currently operate in two locations, The Oxford Academy in Blackbird Leys and our new home, Barton Park Primary School in Barton.
All participants must register prior to the start of term.
We only have spaces left on classes: Junior Street 8 – 10 years and Beginners Street 11 – 14 years.
If you need a referral form, or have any questions about subsidised spaces, and travel bursaries please email email@example.com for more information.

“My daughter has been dancing with Body Politic for almost a year now. Her background is in ballet, lyrical and contemporary so she was nervous about starting initially. But thanks to the teachers her nerves have totally vanished and have been replaced by genuine excitement each week! I’m so grateful for the opportunities that Body Politic present. It’s amazing to see her self esteem growing after each class.”
“My son enjoys the classes a lot and it is currently the only out of school/social network he has. It means a huge amount to us.”
This project is funded by Access Sport, Public Health England, Youth Ambition and supported by Dancin’ Oxford, Oxford City Council
